Ludhiana boy in Georgian jail, Centre’s help sought

Chandigarh, February 4
Centre's help seek for the release of Ludhiana boy Rohit Kumar, who has been languishing in a Georgian jail for the past several months.
Rohit's mother had received a call from Georgia recently.
The caller, who identified himself as Dilbagh Singh and a friend of Rohit, told her that she should arrange to send Rs 20,000 in Georgia so that Rohit's lawyer could be paid. He said that Rohit was in jail and there was a need to hire a lawyer.
Khaira asked the MEA to instruct the Indian Embassy officials to contact Dilbagh Singh to ascertain the whereabouts of Rohit.
